Response of vegetative and fruit growth to the soil volume wetted by irrigation in a super-high-density olive orchard

چکیده
In most fruit tree orchards under localised irrigation, only a fraction of the rhizosphere is wetted by irrigation. As this may reduce growth and production, such that there demand for information on optimum number location emitters. mature ‘Arbequina’ olive orchard with 1667 trees ha-1, we analysed impact applying same amount water one vs. two drip irrigation pipes (laterals) per row. We had full which supplies amounted to 80–100% crop needs (ETc), deficit treatments supplying ca. 40% ETc. used HYDRUS 2D/3D (v. 1.11) model simulate shape volume (irrigation bulbs), as well drainage soil evaporation. For both differences in surface were not sufficient affect The greatest values root length density unit found laterals, lowest fully irrigated lateral. This, however, was counterbalanced greater size bulbs contents trees, uptake enhanced second 2 consecutive years no irrigating or laterals row potential stomatal conductance, shoot growth, leaf area either conditions. Therefore, our findings suggest benefits super high instead one.

Yield and Water Productivity Responses to Irrigation Cut-off Strategies after Fruit Set Using Stem Water Potential Thresholds in a Super-High Density Olive Orchard
An increase in the land area dedicated to super-high density olive orchards has occurred in Chile in recent years. Such modern orchards have high irrigation requirements, and optimizing water use is a priority. Moreover, this region presents low water availability, which makes necessary to establish irrigation strategies to improve water productivity. An experiment was conducted during four con...

This experiment was conducted to explore the reasons of difference between ‘Zard’ olive orchard with the poor vegetative growth rate and fruit set and orchard with suitable vegetative growth rate and fruit set in relation to some soil and plant factors during two seasons. Note that assumptions were based on the overall canopy greenness of the olive trees, so experimental orchards in which the p...

Verticillium dahliae Kleb. the causal agent of vascular wilt is an important pathogen of olive trees in growing areas of the world. Nine-month-old nursery olives including ‘Bladi’, ‘Conservalia’, ‘Kalamon’, ‘Koroneiki’, ‘Manzanilla’, ‘Mission’, ‘Marry’, ‘Picual’, ‘Rowghani’, ‘Sevillana’ and ‘Zard’ cultivars were root-dip inoculated with a defoliating (VCG1) isolate of V. dahliae obtained from d...
متن کاملOlive oil quality and ripening in super-high-density Arbequina orchard.
BACKGROUND The aim of this work was to evaluate the evolution of the quality of extra virgin olive oil obtained from a super-high-density Arbequina orchard, under a drip irrigation system, throughout the ripening process. For this objective, physicochemical, nutritional and sensory parameters were studied. In addition, the oxidative stability, pigment content and colour evolution of olive oil w...
